Power of attorney
Who should manage your affairs if you become unable to do so yourself? By establishing a lasting power of attorney, you determine who will be authorized to act on your behalf, and within what limits.
Most people would hope to remain capable of making rational decisions throughout their lives. However, this cannot always be guaranteed, and such incapacity may arise without warning.
In cases of progressive illness such as dementia, it is often foreseeable that a time may come when the individual no longer acts as he or she would have done before the onset of the illness. In such circumstances, there is often an opportunity to arrange financial matters, powers of attorney, etc., in due time.
In other situations, however, an accident or sudden critical illness may leave a person unable, at short notice, to make fully reasoned decisions.
A lasting power of attorney is therefore relevant for most people. Regardless of the size of one’s estate or family circumstances, it provides clarity and reassurance that you have decided who is to make decisions on your behalf and what decisions they may make.
When ordering a lasting power of attorney through PrivatRevision, you will be asked to provide:
- Name of the Principal (Fuldmagtsgiver)

- The scope of the power of attorney (to be selected via checkboxes in the form)
